Pecan Pie Rice Krispie Treats

  • 1 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light butter spread
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups puffed rice cereal


  1. Grease a 9x9 baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
  2. in a large skillet over medium heat, add chopped pecans.
  3. Toast for 3-5 minutes, tossing frequently until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Add brown sugar and butter spread to a large bowl. Set aside.
  5. In a medium saucepan, heat maple syrup over medium heat until boiling.
  6. Boil until syrup reaches 225 degrees, or about 5-6 minutes.
  7. Pour syrup over reserved brown sugar and butter.
  8. Add vanilla and salt, and whisk until combined.
  9. Pour in rice cereal and 1 cup of chopped pecans.
  10. Stir until thoroughly combined.
  11. Pour mixture into prepared pan, and spread evenly.
  12. Top with plastic wrap, and press firmly on top.
  13. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before cutting and serving.
  14. Store in refrigerator for best quality.
