Oooohhh Dixielaaaaand! So sorry about that. Just cueing my inner Brad Paisley since I will be heading on down to Tennessee-town tonight! Well I won’t actually get there until tomorrow, but you get the drift.
But first! Please enjoy my documentation of eats for ze day. I’m sure I’m gunna look back on these posts someday and have some real deep insight into my life like..”Wow. I reallllly spent too much time taking pictures of food when I could be eating it.”
Soo let me start off with saying, no I did not consume wine with every meal, snack, and beverage. I pretty much just titled it so I could share the fact that I finally used my first groupon for Sweet Baby Vineyard.
I took my friend Becky along with me to celebrate the end of her dietetic internship in true nutrition fashion. WINE & CHEESE.
Like many things, I’m just preparing myself for France. Riiigghhtt. Don’t want any culture shock once I get there. 😉
Now that we got the proprietaries out of the way let’s get down with what I’m chowing down on!
Today was my first day off of work for the Summer so I got to enjoy a real meal eating at a table instead of a desk. Looking outside a window rather than a computer screen is so much more enjoyable.
2 egg omelet stuffed with avocado and feta cheese along with some fresh cherries and Ezekial toast spread with 1/2 pb and 1/2 butter.
Maybe it’s cuz all the cool kids are doing it, but I was really craving some toast with melty butter on it. It ain’t the gold standard KerryGold, but it IS European..style.
Lunch was a pita stuffed with some tuna and kale served with some steamed green beans sprinkled with feta while researching for this month’s Did You Know… post.
PSA: The link-up will be tomorrow instead of Friday on account of the holiday. Just in case you have a small panic attack in seeing it and thinking it is already Friday. Life. Saved.
And then a couple handfuls of Coconut & Blueberry almonds leftover from making my trail mix.
I guzzled down a bottle of
Vega Energizer before heading out for my interval run with Papa John. I have to say I am getting used to the flavor that I despised when I first tried it, and really like the energy it gives me before my workouts. I’ve been drinking a bottle before my runs with some good results thus far.
Dinner was spent out on the porch with a spinach salad topped with the rest of my tuna, cooked butternut squash, dried cranberries, and sunflower seeds served with FINALLY SOME WINE!!
A kiddie cone size amount of wine. Womp Womp. I had some leftover from a recipe I was developing and there’s just no such thing as leftover wine in this house. I had just enough to fill my wine tasting glass and drop in a frozen strawberry to pretend it was sangria.
And you know the day wouldn’t be complete without some veg and pb action up in here now. Believe it or not this is the first time I bought carrots in a while. Don’t you worry though, the 5 lb bag is almost gone.
I bought it on Sunday.
Evening snackage was some TJ’s Salmon Jerky and some more unpictured veg & pb. I’ve been searching for this jerky every time I go to Trader Joe’s and FINALLY found it this time around.
I have to say I wasn’t too impressed. I don’t know what I was expecting from Salmon jerky, but it was just a little too tough for my liking. I’ll stick with the grilled and baked variety from now on.
So there’s my Wednesday summed up in baby wine glasses. Oh, and some food along the way. I’ll be off to Tennessee now. Wish me luck with a 14 hours to kill in the car ride..
Thanks to Miss Jenn for hosting!
Make it a great day!
