Happy Wednesday loves!
Here we are at the first food oversharing post of the month, and I can hardly contain my excitement (!!) Nothing rings in a new month quite like head shots of my three squares.
I started the morning off with a grateful heart and belly.
A smoothie full of vanilla protein powder, cocoa powder, spinach, chia seeds, 1/2 frozen banana, and frozen berries to wash down my daily list of 10 things I’m grateful for.
..make that 11 if you count the smoothie.
You know what makes me ravenous during the day? Sitting at a desk. Since my morning class got pushed back thanks to an after-Halloween party, I had nothing to do but emails and bask in my bored hunger.
An apple and scoop of sunbutter to save the day.
Thankfully, my work day ended at noon so I wouldn’t have to eat my face off at the office for the rest of the afternoon. Instead, I traded my office for season 4 of the office, and a hugh jass bowl of homemade soup.
I call this crisper drawer soup, since I literally threw every vegetable on it’s bed in my crisper drawer into a pot with some boiled chicken bones from a rotisserie chicken (carcass just sounds too animal planet for me) with some black beans and called it lunch.
Half dead veggies, and full dead chickens are made for soups.
Another unpictured apple went down the hatch, because I take that whole apple a day thing to another level during the fall.
Since my fridge was now void of all RIP vegetables, grocery shopping was in dire need, followed by a total body superset workout from Julie, along with J.Lo pandora station. Totally killin’ it on both parts.
Usually I time my workouts with when my next meal is so I can sufficiently stuff my face afterwards, but an early start left me hanging at like 3:30. I know I’m granny status, but even that is a little too early of a dinner time for me…but just by like 20 minutes or so.
I snacked on this baby go macro bar that I scored from my FNCE haul to hold me over.
I’m not usually one for AB, but this bar was an exception. So good!
Then it was time to trade in my liquid salad (aka soup) for the real deal dinnah.
Topped with cottage cheese, hummus, beets, and barbecue sauce for dressing with a side order of crazy yoga pants.
Now I understand that this bowl is typically used to serve salad out of rather than eat straight from, but it’s me we’re talking about here. Go big (salad) or go home.
Chased with the daily dose of beta carotene covered in pb.
The rest of the night was spent with the DIY group of ladies for this month’s project of making candles! We may not be Pinterest pros at leave luminaries, but dixie cup candles are our friggen JAM.
Make it a great day!
What’s your favorite soup to make?
Have you ever made your own candles?
