Long time no hump day my friends.
…At least in the world of oversharing my daily eats with all of your wandering eyes. That is. UNTIL NOW.
How hard do you think it would be to get that movie trailer voiceover guy to narrate my posts? Who knows a guy? Hook a sistah up.
Fast breaking started with a cup of dark roast and some of my pumpkin spice muesli.
Not nearly as pretty, but twice as nice. Mixed with soy milk, half a banana, and some sun buttah…in an empty peanut butter jar. But let’s just keep that our little secret.
This week’s nutrition class with preschoolers was all about tropical fruits, including mango, kiwi, and star fruit..or according to them patrick fruit…which tasted like a bat, moon, or moon star depending on who you asked.
Then all the apples at my next class with the library, which to my surprise, was told they tasted like…apples. These kids have some sophisticated palates let me tell ya. I’d like to hear some of that gold star critiquing from those judges on the Food Network.
So naturally, I ate the leftovers for a mid-morn snack.
It was everything I hoped a red delicious would taste. Expectedly underwhelming. C’est la vie.
Today was also office clean-up day, so in between unloading boxes, and gauging a big paper cut into my eco-friendly heart from the mountains of paper we were recycling, grubbage ensued.
I pieced together a couple leftover soups (aka minestrone and paleo turkey chili), threw in some leftover zoodles for more vegetation, and served with some buttery toast. Is it just me, or is soup 10 billion times more comforting with warm buttery bread?
Soon followed by a cup of decaf with almond milk creamer because all the cool office kids were doing it…and I needed an excuse to not be doing office cleanup. There I said it.
Plus an unpictured apple for my fall quota of 2 a day. Gotta get my fill of them while I can, despite the 24/7 bloat baby that ensues.
This whole being flippin’ freezing and dark at 4PM is doing a number on my productivity. My mind is all in workout and blog work mode, while my body is in netflix and chill zone. My body and soul are the odd couple once winter’s doom is around the corner.
Because the body has the whole moving thing to it’s advantage, I opted for considering my 40 minute walk in the cold as a sufficient amount of exercise for the day, and jammed on some guitar instead.
But first, DINNER.
Now I know this looks like puke in a handbasket, but I promise it was actually weirdly good. I nixed my usual salmon patties, and mixed a can of salmon with some pasta sauce, garlic, spaghetti squash, and some spinach for greenage. Topped with mozz and butter because it’s a scientific fact that I can’t have any pasta, wannabe pasta, or cat vomit without it.
Make it a great day!
What’s your favorite thing to have with soup?
Please tell me you’re somewhere warm and tropical so I can be envious.
