WIAW: Hearts of Hemp

This post is sponsored by Manitoba Harvest and Fit Approach. Thank you for supporting the brands and organizations that help make Sinful Nutrition possible!

Good morning friends!

I’ve some instagram fun in store for you, but first let’s get down to WIAW bid-ness.

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Breakfast

Lately I’ve been stah-ving once I wake up, and the one thing that always fills me up for longer than 2 hours is…

All the protein and fats. In the form of 2 eggs, 1 egg white, mixed greens, 1/2 avocado, and spicy mustard. Hallelujah.

Lunch

Smoothies and oatmeal always leave me ravenous before 12 hits, but the almighty eggs pushed me through until noon..where I was ready to gnaw the entire left side of my body off.

mixed greens // grilled chicken // yellow peppers // 1/2 avocado // spicy mustard

And no meal’s complete without something sweet!

img_3018

In the form of green tea and clementines. Still trying to kill my stockpile of those suckers. I now know why they are only available once a year. It takes me that long to not despise their ever-living citrus guts.

Snack

As a fellow SPA sistah, I had the chance to test out the new Hemp Heart Bars from Manitoba Harvest, which fit right in with my efforts to add more plant-based foods back into my life. They come in 3 flavors: Chocolate, Apple Cinnamon, and Vanilla.

I of course had to dive into the chocolate first for the 2 PM pick me up. 😉

I liked how there’s a good balance of protein, carbs, and fats in there, and not toooo much sugar. There’s still 8 grams, or 2 teaspoons of sugar, but that’s really not that bad in the realm of granola bars. And since there’s some omega 3’s and protein in there, I’m not ravenous two seconds later.

Dinner

After churning out some homemade salsa with some kiddos, it was no better time than dinner time..unless it was breakfast because that’s the best time. Duh.

homemade salmon patty // green beans // spicy mustard

And that something sweet I’m always going on about.
