WIAW: Cold Hot Foods & Hot Cold Foods

September 14, 2016 by Emily Cooper 3 Comments

    Hi friends!

Happy Wednesday to your cherub little faces too.

This week has me feeling like my head is in a hamster wheel as my schedule and all of the projects I can't say no to are piling up faster than I can drown out in a spoonful of peanut butter.

    I still try though.

Luckily they are all good things and I'm staying afloat for the best thing to happen to Wednesday since the Addams family.

    What I Ate Wednesday Logo

My body has been in a funk lately, throwing my usual hangry self for a loop. I haven't had too much of an appetite, but chowed down a breakfast sandwich and some coffee as I planned the day's events and headed out for my early morning class with some new preschoolers and a rainbow assortment of peppers.

    Coffee and Breakfast Sandwich

I made a bunch of breakfast sandwiches for the freezer last week, which makes breakfast ready in 2 minutes flat, and perfect for lazy/busy/procrastinating morning which I may or may not have experience simultaneously this am.

I stuffed them with kale, parmesan, and tomato on some whole wheat English muffins from TJ's.

This week's weather has still been gorgeous so far, and I'm holding onto these last lingering days, with pumpkin in hand.

    Picnic Turkey Pumpkin Chili

...in the form of the last bit of my turkey pumpkin chili, eaten chilly because it and all other chili's taste better that way. And so does eating al fresco with a view like this.

Since chili is the meatloaf of soups, it's pretty filling, so I didn't need to dig into my usual mid-morning snack until late afternoon.

    Bracelet and Apple

A super juicy apple that reminded me why I ate my weight in these delicious fruits this time of year. Other than bananas, I am team seasonal fruit. That way, I eat my fruit lovin' heart with all of them each season until I don't want to see them for another year. I've got a lot of apples to eat through to get to that point.

And a recycled photo, but same snack of a spoonful of pb..which turned into another. The danger you get in to when you leave the jar on your desk...

    Spoon of Peanut Butter

I took in the last bit of vitamin D with some reading by the pool before a yoga sesh with Adriene, and tried and true Emily-style salad.

    Wilted Kale Salad

A pile of greens topped with a pile of rando foods. I steamed some kale since eating it raw results in a bloat baby of twin-sized status, topped with the remains of a recipe I was testing, and the last bit of cottage cheese taking up quality fridge real estate.

Which resulted in a warm salad, topped with cold leftovers. My life is a forever opposite day.

    Post dinner something sweet.

    PB Banana in Skin

Who needs plates when your fruit has it's own jacket?!

    Make it a great day!

Would you rather eat a hot food cold, or cold food hot?

If you could only eat one fruit for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I'd rather a hot food cold. I do it all the time with leftover - pasta, pizza, even chili. Yum! Thanks for sharing your eats. I love apples and PB too 🙂
