WIAW: All the Fruit

March 9, 2016 by Emily Cooper 11 Comments

Oh hey!

Are you, yes YOU ready to travel on down to hump day town?!

…Welllllll you have no choice, so buckle up bitches we’re getting our grub on!

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

With an early start ahead of me, I did what any caffeine-addicted-smoothie-loving girl would do…

IMG_3306

1 cup cashew milk // 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use MyProtein) // 1/2 tablespoon instant coffee // 1 tablespoon peanut butter // 1 frozen banana // ice

Threw all that ‘ish in a blender and slurped it down. It brought back the memory of enjoying bowls (literally) of coffee and baguettes in France with my grammy.

Take. Me. Back.

I have been on such a banana kick lately, and obviously one wasn’t enough for this girl today.

IMG_3320

banana // tablespoon SunButter // granola // cinnamon

If you don’t like the nut butter and banana combo, our relationship ends here.

As much as my naner eating hit the spot x 2, I was still starving as soon as the clock hit noon…11:55 if we’re being honest here. No shame.

IMG_3319

romaine // ground chicken // 1/2 avocado // salsa

This was originally going to be lettuce wrap tacos, but I just couldn’t break my taco salad kick as much as I try. At least this addiction doesn’t turn my skin Cheeto orange.

IMG_3318

Along with an apple after my own heart for dessert. #Grannystatus4lyfe

After a busy day at work, I decided to hit the gym as soon as I got home, so I could force myself to eat dinner at a reasonable hour. Just reppin’ that granny status strong. 30 minutes of walking with commercial break runs with my BFF Ina.

IMG_3317

Leave it to me to exercise while swooning over homemade meringues and berry compotes.

After my salivating sweat sesh, I was more than ready to dive my face into whatever food was within my reach.

IMG_3316

Which is how this tupperware of spaghetti squash, leftover ground chicken, and guac was born in 30 seconds. No shame in my tupperware game.

And hey, since we’re on a fruit fix today, let’s throw one more apple in there for good measure.

IMG_3315

A balanced diet is two apples and two bananas in a day.

Now that I have cable and feel a little more like I’m one with the 21st century, I rekindled with some more Food Network, and a delicious protein-filled decaf cappuccino.

IMG_3323

I just whipped up 1/4 cup of cashew milk with 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder with my milk frother, and added in some fresh brewed decaf. So good!

Have I proven my Granny capabilities to you yet?

Make it a great day!

What’s the greatest number of fruits you’ve eaten in a day?

Are you a night owl or early bird? I’ve been getting that worm since I was just a chickadee…

Yay for all that fruit! Since becoming pregnant, there’s no limit to how much fruit I eat a day. All looks great! And love the Sunbutter banana granola combo.

Hahahaha I’m right there with you on the #Grannystatus4lyfe. I eat dinner early, I go to bed early, I love me some granny-smiths. No complaints haha

I’m not a huge smoothie person, but I’m not sure why I never thought of adding coffee to one! I would DEFINITELY like that!

I’m definitely an early bird. I think God made my body to really like the sunshine, and I’m also grateful that He gives me the energy to power through some ‘night owl’ shifts. 🙂 AND I LOVE fruit. . . I’ve probably eaten 3 or 4 apples in one day. O_O

Oh man in the summer months my fruit intake is OFF THE CHARTS. I literally eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and dessert. Summer fruit is the best 🙂 I wish I was that way with veggies!

So easy to do! I kinda go crazy on cherries when they go on sale during the summer. No shame 🙂

I have a love affair with bananas…just the other day at the store, I grabbed a bunch. The hubs then scolds me, “Don’t you have enough bananas at home??” Yes, but I want and need more 🙂 I need to try the decaf protein drink in the evening…I find myself craving coffee later in the day, and that just isn’t a good idea if I want to get ANY sleep!
