Oh hayyy Wednesday.
This whole Spring forward thing is a great influence on not wanting to be an adult and stay in bed all dat watching Facebook recipe videos. Lucky for me, the cotton candy skies were my only saving grace this morning.
Okay, okay I’m up. Only because it’s time to share ALL THE FOODS.
Sleeping in meant no time to make coffee (sin) and a B-line straight to the eats.
1/2 cup oats // 1 scoop chocolate protein powder ( I use MyProtein) // 1 tablespoon homemade sunbutter // hemp hearts // almond milk
Since oatmeal itself fills me up for half a second, adding some protein and fats to mix really helps to keep me full almost until lunch. Alllmost.
After a rain-filled commute and a half awake brain, coffee was a must. Dunkies dark roast it was. Walking with an umbrella, tote bag, and coffee does a number on the splash stain count.
By lunch time, I was stahving, and a can of chunk light tuna never sounded so appetizing. True fact: It still doesn’t sound that appetizing.
Lucky for tuna, team beet hummus, avocado, and Tony’s seasoning came to the rescue to turn-down-for-what this salad. And if you haven’t been introduced to Tony’s yet, you need to be. It heals all food wounds.
Since I managed to make it through the morning without my usual snack attack, it left the afternoon wide open for my current nut butter partner obsession.
There’s just so many good things about this power couple. Step aside Jay-Z & Queen B.
After a round of food shopping, I downed a seltzer to fill in for mindless snacking on all the foods I just bought. I still have to laugh whenever someone cracks open a seltzer at work, and I think someone’s working their way through a six pack. It’s been a long two days….
Then it was time to get funky with some homemade baked chicken nuggets and fruit kabobs with the most well-mannered kiddos. It’s amazing what the words “nuggets” and “prizes” will do to a kids P’s & Q’s.
While I didn’t manage to snap a pic of the nugs I chowed down on, I did get one of my new red headed friend.
…Right before I bit his juicy red face off. I wonder if he could smell his own deliciousness with that strawberry schnoz of his.
I wasn’t too hungry for dinner after work, so I hit the gym for half an hour of walk time with Fixer Upper, and some jogging during commercials. Active rest days are so much easier when they’re spent with HGTV, as opposed to the rain whipping at your face.
Then the day came for the last of this week’s batch of my salmon patties. He seemed to just fall apart without his friends.
at least green beans and broccoli were there for moral support. They’re so good like that.
Make it a great day!
