Viva Las Vega [review]

May 5, 2014 by Emily Cooper 6 Comments

*Disclaimer: I was provided with Vega bars in affiliation with the Sweat Pink community in exchange for this post. No other compensation was received. All thoughts, opinions, and chocolate obsessions are my own.

Oh what a beautiful Monday. Oh what a beautiful day! I have to keep telling myself this since it is my first day back from vaca and I am without coffee. So let’s just follow the yellow brick road to the nearest Dunkies and click our heels until we’re in Hawaii, kay?

Plus it’s Cinco de Drinko Mayo! So put some ole’ in your Monday and drink a margarita for me.

If you couldn’t tell by my title I am going to VEGAS, BABY!!!!!

[source]

Okay not in the slightest am I going to Vegas. It’s be a big deal if I even played a scratch ticket let alone blow through my money on a rum bucket and a drive through wedding with an Elvis….Costello impersonator.

No I hit an even bigger jackpot when I had the chance to test drive and review some of the all mighty and powerful new  Vega bars.

Vega-Bar-Launch-Header

I always heard many rave reviews about the Vega protein powder for smoothies and the like, so I jumped at the chance to put this bars through the paces.

I received two flavors of each variety, which are Vega One, Snack, Energy, and Fuel.

Vega One:

The Vega One bars are a meal replacement bar, and serve as a great “on the go” option for those days when my usual bowl of oatmeal is just not happening. AKA, most Mondays. With Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cherry Almond, I don’t think I have to tell you which one won me over.

Vega Snack:

As it’s name implies these bars are perfect for those afternoon munchies that I get at more times than one during the day. The Dark Chocolate with Mixed Nuts & Sea Salt also helped me survive a 5 hour car ride. But then again, what situation doesn’t chocolate solve?

Vega Energy:

These bad boys are made to fuel you through a tough workout with both quick and long lasting carbs for immediate and sustained energy. I probably could have used one of those back in my Insanity days.

Did I mention they come in Chocolate Coconut & Almond? Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention. CHOCOLATE.

Vega Sport:

After you awaken from your grueling workout and chocolate coma, you can recover with a Vega Sport bar! All of these bars were created by  (vegan) Ironman triathlete, Brendan Brazier so I think he knows a thing or two about fueling and refueling. Oh and they help you dominate Rocky Balboa stairs. But you would have known that already if I blew up your feed on IG.

And in case you were wondering, this comes in a Chocolate Coconut flavor. I think Brendan has us ladies in mind when coming up with these flavors.

Thanks again to the lovely team at Vega and my Sweat Pink Sistas for the opportunity to try these out!

Make it a great day!

Do you love or loathe Mondays?

If you had to choose chocolate or peanut butter (no combining!) which would you pick?

Nice review dear! I love how clearly you explained the differences, in the first couple reviews I read I didn’t realize there were different bars for different things (meal, energy, etc)!

Thanks dollface! I can see how that would be confusing. Especially with almost all of them containing a chocolate kind!

I could only dream of replicating your mellow dramatic floor sprawls. I was probably going through a peanut butter withdrawal.
