Hazzah! Here we are at Wednesday already. Usually I am buzzin’ about the week flying by, but since it is school vaca for the kiddos it has been nice to get some peace and quiet without dealing with the day to day craziness during lunchtime.
As I told you earlier, I spent Monday morning filming a spot on the local channel in the area where I got to talk all about the blog! We chatted about all different things from coconut oil to instagram, and even the Did You Know link up. After my cameo on the Alabama news station I was a seasoned pro at working the camera.
Ha, truth is I couldn’t even see the cameras which is why I rarely even looked into them. I can’t wait to see it air and my awkward half glance at the camera before staring off into the land of…nothing.
I had a blast and the time flew by as we powered through the whole 30 minute taping with no problem. There was even some talk about coming back for a cooking demo which I am so excited about. Sinful Nutrition is on it’s way to Food Network!
After that I spent some time doing what any budding Food Network star would do and have a shopping spree at the grocery store. I scored boat loads of zucchini, broccoli, and apples on discount and couldn’t leave without my fix of carrots and kabucha squash. I’m pretty sure they should start selling carrots behind the checkout counter when I come in. There must be nicotine in that soil I swear.
I also landed my hands on a giant tub of Driscoll’s strawberries. I have been on the lookout for these babies for weeks now, you know because the dead of winter is the peak strawberry season and all. It was like these berries came down from California heaven as I rounded the corner to the produce department.
Maybe it was because I have been deprived for so long, but they tasted ah-maz-ing! Not to mention most of them were the size of half my face (only half) but I resisted the urge to eat the entire tub and regret it instantly.
Wow, I’m still talking about strawberries.
I also took a break from my Insanity workouts to do a simple lower body workout at home instead. My left shin has been really bugging me especially during the warm ups during Insanity, so I decided maybe it was good to take a break. Except that my warm-up replicated the Insanity one. Woops. Luckily my shin didn’t bother me too much. Here’s what I did:

I was still sweating by the end of it but of course lacked the intensity I’ve come to enjoy from Insanity. I think I have been reading The Shining too much recently since I couldn’t resist picturing Jack Nicholson coming out of my closet with a hatchet. Heeerrree’sss JJohhnnyy!!
And a public service announcement: I strongly suggest not using stability balls at a gym. After the amount of sweat I rolled on that thing for my scary selfie, I wouldn’t use a public one until I after I ran it through a car wash. Twice. But that’s just me.
And that’s where my Insanity hiatus stops. I was back at it yesterday. Having to make up my own workout just proved to be too much to take on. I’d rather sweat to death while cursing Shaun T and his hot bod. At least I have something good to look at and not worry about being the next victim of a horror film.
Lucky for me my shin didn’t bother me all that much so I am fully prepared to jump back in to things. I knew I couldn’t keep my sanity for long. I mean, I eat raw cabbage with peanut butter…
