Hiya folks!
Did we all have a suuuuper weekend?! Grrrrrrreat!
Did you see what I did with the place?! I thought it was yet again time for a new header and tagline. I'm lovin it...for now. 😉 What do you think?
I also updated my "about me" page finally, and included more about my battle with weight and body image since I'm now in a better place where I'm okay talking about it, and have met so many others who have or are going through the same thing.
In other news, my weekend consisted of some epic fails, painting nails, and scary movies.
...Well that didn't rhyme. How about scary tales? Yeah, fails, nails, and tales. That's more like it!
I tried to make my usual protein pancakes with pumpkin for a festive and delicious version. It had other plans. I mixed ½ cup pumpkin, ½ scoop vanilla protein powder, 2 eggs, splash almond milk, and pumpkin pie spice in my Ninja and poured into a skillet. While it tasted great, it was just not having the flip. You're luck I don't judge a pan by its cake. Good grief.
My half training schedule had a 5k in the plans for Sunday, but since there were none going on and I ran an actually 5k with Papa John last month, I decided a mock one was the answer. Aka running 3.1 miles by myself. Riveting.
After a few speed runs, I thought I would be able to PR no prob from my last race. I felt strong, picking up my pace through the second half, and was crushed to see I took a good 10 seconds longer than my last time. I finished in 27:45 where my last 5k was 27:31. Grrr. I blame the lack of adrenaline and encouragement races give me.
And maybe the free t-shirt. At least I got to see my favorite tree in blazing glory to make up for it.
I gave my nails a good paint over for a festive look this holiday season. Don't worry I still have a ring fingernail. Oh yeah, and they lasted about an hour before getting smudged. My life.
All the while snuggled up watching horror movie marathons. Thanks Mommy Dearest, I've now purged my wire hanger collection just for you.
SweetLeaf reached out to me to try out there two seasonal stevia Sweet Drops flavors, Pumpkin Spice & Peppermint Mocha. Coffee and pumpkin? I'm SO in!
Seeing as this was the first time I had used liquid stevia, I have to admit I felt a bit like a chemist using the little liquid droppers. I always say the kitchen is my la-bor-a-tory. Muahahahahaha!
I've been adding these little drops of wonder into everything. Greek yogurt, pancakes, smoothies, and most of all COFFEE!
I have to say I liked them both, but pumpkin spice will always have my heart. #teampumpkin.
And now, we pumpkin. And this pumpkin knows how to party.
Confession: Martinis are my jam. I don't have them that often, since they're a.) almost always expensive and b.) knock me off my rocker with one, but if I could choose a nice cocktail, martinis fit the bill 9 times out of 10. But they have to be flavored. Olives and me don't get along, so bring on the flavas!
I think this may be a record in Sinful Nutrition history for being the first alcoholic drink recipe. And who better but Mr. Pumpkin himself. You sly devil you!
A typical pumpkin pie martini uses a flavored sugar syrup, but using the SweetLeaf Pumpkin Spice instead, makes this a skinnier version but still oh so delicious. I want it to be Thanksgiving not for the pie or stuffing, but for an excuse to make this bad boy again!

You crack. me. up! I just love the way you write.
Aside from your writing...yum on the drinks! I'm actually including the martini in a little round-up on Lifehack! I'm so glad you added that to the group pumpkin board! 🙂
