Oh. My. Gosh.
I am one part grateful, one part ashamed that it took me THIS long to experience the greatness of these party ham and cheese sliders. I'm 98% confident I could polish off a dozen of these before I realize I polished off a dozen sandwiches. THAT good.
True fact, I know putting fruit on pizza is a hot debate these days, but hey, call me a radical in the name of sweet and salty unity.
I mean, who doesn't have the image of a pineapple ring and maraschino cherry studded spiral of a ham front and center on the family holiday table? Let's face it, even the Grinch had that going for him. You best believe those rings of salt-infused fruit are coveted each and every year, and I come in swingin'. Every man, woman, and child for themselves.
This way is a little more generous. That is, if I can stop myself from eating them in time.
Why I love these Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders:
- They're (a little) bit healthier. I mean, I wouldn't go as far as putting them in the same category as kale smoothies and turmeric lattes, but they are a little bit leaner than the original. I only used a tablespoon vs the traditional ½ cup of butter, and nixed the mayo. Plus, there's a serving of fruit..if you eat about 6 of these.
- They are super easy to make. Not to mention supah quick to make. This kinda puts them in that 'dangerously delicious' category.
- They're a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Game day. Holiday. Any day. I can say with confidence these won't make it past the first commercial break.

- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- ½ tablespoon cornstarch

- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

- Remove from heat once mixtures starts to thicken, and pour over prepared sandwiches.
- Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
- Slice into 12 sandwiches before serving.
Notes
- If you want more pineapple flavor, add a sliced pineapple ring to each sandwich before baking.
- This can easily be doubled to serve a larger crowd.
