A gut-healthy yogurt bowl recipe that makes for a satisfying breakfast or snack!

This month was all about gut-health, and couldn’t be more nutritionally nerd excited if I tried. Dealing with my own issues with the gut for far too long, you could say it’s one of my missions to spread the word on gut health importance and regular bowel movements for all.
There are SO many good foods out there full of the good bacteria for good gut health. Is that good enough for ya?!
While it’s pretty gosh darn easy to get caught up in the amount of probiotics and focused products out there, all you need to remember is FERMENTED and FIBER.
I like to thin my yogurt out a little bit, which is why I add some almond milk to it, but if you want to up the gut-health even more on this bad bowl, use kefir! It’s a fermented drinkable yogurt, or as I like to call it, the champagne of yogurt drinks.
Just trust your gut on that one. 😉
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- ⅓ cup unsweetened almond milk or kefir
- ¼ cup blueberries
- ¼ banana, sliced
- ½ tablespoon ground flax
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened dried coconut
- 2 tablespoons whole oats
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Combine yogurt and almond milk or kefir in a bowl, and stir to combine.
- Top with remaining ingredients, and serve.
