How sweet it is to be Fri-iii-day!
And just in time because I am just about busting out of my work week pants, and in dire need of the elastic waistband of the weekend.
It’s been a long time (I shouldn’t have left you) since I’ve done a Friday Favorites Post, so I’d thought I’d start it back up for each month to recap what I’ve been diggin’ on lately. Mostly so I can look back on these posts when I’m 80 and remember what Tomfoolery was in at the time. I remember back in my day when we had to text on a touchscreen!
Calendula Oil
Remember when I said I’d give you an update once my calendula oil was ready?! Well it is, and I can’t get enough. I’ve been using it as a moisturizer right after a shower, and my skin is like buttah! I thought it might help with my keratosis pillaris aka “chicken skin”, but no such luck yet. I’ll take some baby smooth feelin skin though!
Documentaries
After hearing the news that Sea World wouldn’t be adding anymore Orcas in the future, I was intrigued to see the documentary on them called BlackFish. It was super eye-opening, and while I never really had a dying need to go there, I’m questioning even visiting the zoo anytime soon.
I also recently watching Vanishing of the Bees, which was all about Colony Collapse Disorder, and why all the bees are disappearing and dying without a trace. It only fueled my intense interest in the life of bees and more advocation to eat local. Save the bees!
L’Oreal Cleansing Balm
I actually got this in my latest VoxBox to review, and is so fitting for me! The less time and more help I can get with taming this frizzy mane of mine is welcome with open palms. It definitely helps condition and wash all in one, but I do have to be careful about using too much (usually about 5 pumps is good for me) or else it starts to look a bit greasy.
Meditation
While upping my yoga game may still be a constant struggle, I’ve been getting back into my nightly meditation practice before bed. I’m loving the app, Headspace. It’s only 10 minutes a night of guided meditation (in a British accent I might add) so it is something I can stick to doing, and really helps me settle into a slumber.
Smoothies
Maybe it’s the hopeful dreams that it will one day stop wintering and get on with Spring, but I’ve actually been looking forward to morning smoothies lately. While the strawberry spinach does a good job of waking me up these gloomy days, I’ve also been adding a hunk of fresh ginger (skin and all!) and makes me question why I waited so long to do it. So refreshing!
Make it a great day!
