Camden Camping Adventure

July 20, 2015 by Emily Cooper 4 Comments

Morning friends!

This weekend, a big gaggle of us went up to Camden for a little oceanside camping adventure.

But first…we must breakfast.

Yet again. Local Sprouts did not disappoint. A breakfast burrito chock full of eggs, home fries, cheddar, and sauteed veggies. I could seriously eat here everyday and not get tired of it.

Spoiler alert: We went back for lunch on Sunday immediately upon getting into Portland. Point proven.

After a fully caffeinated car ride, we arrived to Camden State Park, set up the tent, and took off for an adventure before the threatening rain came in.

While it may have taken a bit longer than we expected (800 feet my arse!), the lookout tower views were still gorgeous even in the sea mist and fog.

After sweatin’ up the trails, a little snack-a-roo was in need.

After downing a good portion of some Blue Diamond Nut Thins the day I got them, I crumbled the remaining bits into a jar of almonds for a quick snack mix to take with me. A couple handfuls held me over until lunchtime.

One last chance to soak in the views, and away we trudged.

Then it was time for my first game of Polish horseshoes (love!) and some major noshing.

IMG_1129.PNGI feel like I always need to have something crunchy whenever I have a sandwich or a wrap. After downing a turkey wrap in 3.5 seconds, I was ready to pounce on any crunch-inducing item within a 5 foot radius.

Lucky for me, the shards of glass, and gravel I brought were 10 feet away, and the Nut Thins & hummus were only 2 feet. Hit. The. Spot.

This is what camping in Maine looks like.

IMG_1127.PNGCamden is a quaint little town, full of shops, restaurants, and of course the sea. Add this view to the list of things I never get tired of.

And also being reunited with these beauts.

The rest of the night was full of laughter, my hand-crafted s’mores, and shenanigans by the fire. It’s probably a good thing I didn’t bring out the tree pose.

Never a dull moment with these ladies. Keep the summer adventures coming.

I want to go camping but haven’t been in so long… my weekend was lots of time with friends – picnic in the park, trip to Sonoma, lots of food!
