Happy protuberance day my friends!
…what? I thought “hump” was a little too overplayed so I synonymed. Because THAT’S a word.
Let’s just stick to what I know, and get eating!
After sweating through day 5 of Jillian Michael’s Ripped in 30 while still half asleep, I was more than ready to houdini my breakfast. Yawning through pushups isn’t a good sign is it?
And the world’s quickest breakfast was born. A scoop of Amazing Grass Choco PB Protein powder, 1/2 a small avocado, and some instant coffee to get my caffeine and breakfast fix through a straw.
Alongside my daily ritual of writing 10 things I’m grateful for in the tiniest font humanly possible. Maybe I should add that one to tomorrow’s list…
After chat about stone fruits and eating our way through the alphabet with one of my classes, I had my first taste of an RX bar that I’ve seen breaking the food blogger internet lately.
I wasn’t terribly hungry, but had another class before lunch and knew I would be a hangry hulk teacher if I didn’t eat something first. I had half the bar, and….meh. It was good and I liked the ingredients, but it didn’t blow me away.
The kids must have been hangry as well because between ice spills, arm wrestling, and fighting over cucumber seeds, I was ready to stop adulting for the day.
Throw err’thang in a bowl on top of greens and call it lunch kinda salad it was.
This time with some nitrate-free chicken hot dogs from TJ’s, salsa, avocado, and some roasted beets. Totally weird, but it worked. If only I didn’t run out of my gigantic pickles, than this piece would have been perfection.
Plus something sweet with Ree. The perfect combination.
After a couple rainy days, I was more than happy to soak up the sun poolside after work. Not so happy to embrace post cannonball splashes from children. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, but I simply had no chill for them today.
Thankfully, Maya Angelou’s inspiring words held me together until food could.
Grilled zucchini is one of my favorite things during the summer, so I took matters into my own hands and used my panini press to get the same effect. Grill schmill!
Served along side a veggie frittata loaded with some CSA veggies, including fennel, new potatoes, and some beet greens I cut from the tops of some ginorm-o beets. And a simple green salad with a vinaigrette. A very French-esque dinner. My Grammy would be so proud.
And let’s not forget an Emily-style after dinner mint!
Make it a great day!
What’s your favorite food to grill?
Pool, lake or ocean?
