I’d be lying if I told you these overnight oats haven’t been chiilin’ (literally) in my fridge for almost a week. Holy Kris Kringle, only 2 days left til Christmas! And I couldn’t be anymore excited. All my shopping is good and done. Gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Now all that is left in some holiday baking.
I’m attempting to make homemade caramels for the first time as part as my gift to all of my aunts that I do each year. As well as some of my favorite butter rum cookies and hot cocoa rice krispie treats for Christmas Eve. I always like waiting until that day to whip up everything in a frenzy leaving the kitchen caked in a layer of flour, pile of dishes, and the smell of baked goods in the air.
This weekend I delivered a double dose of Christmas cheer since I feel a little behind in my 12 Days of Giving. Saturday morning I went to return the book “An Idiot Girl’s Christmas” that I read in less than a day for this month’s #HLBBookClub. It was hilariously festive, and could be wrapped up in pretty much three words. Kmart. Barney. Place mats. I guess you’ll have to read the book to understand, or wait for my full recap to come!
