Howdy friends! Are we enjoying the week thus far? I have to say I felt like a 7th grader when I woke up for work on Monday crossing my fingers that school was cancelled.
Instead, it was the dreaded 2 hour delay. Aka no diff for me, except to drive through the snow and slush when it’s at it’s peak of misery. A couple inches and some freezing rain is far too generous for me. Can’t you tell I love winter?
Okay enough Deborah Downing (because Debbie’s older and more sophisticated now) about winter and let’s fill the blogging air with Christmas cheer!
Now that I’m a real person that can’t wear yoga pants and college hoodies everywhere I go without shame, I can afford to spread the joy a little bit more this season. The holidays for me can be boiled down to just one word.
Kidding. It comes down to the word Giving. Giving thanks. Giving love. Giving time. Laughter. And company. Luckily I am fortunate to have all of these things to be thankful for, but there are those who do not have as many items on their list to be thankful for.
In the spirit of the season of giving, I decided to come up with my own version of the 12 days of Christmas called, The 12 Days of Giving.
Starting this Friday, I’ll dedicate each day up through Christmas to giving back to someone. I wanted to post this before Friday, so in case anyone wanted to join in they could have a heads up on what’s to come.
Now it doesn’t mean you have to spend tons of money or even any at all really, but recognizing someone or giving what you can to those in need are what really counts. Here is my list, but feel free to make your own.
It always brings me more joy to know I brightened someone’s day or gave them something they wanted far more than getting presents. Now I can’t lie I like getting gifts as much as the next gal, so why not return the favor? Join in on the fun, all the cool kids are doing it anyway…
And just in case you need some reminding…
Do you have snow yet where you are?
Who are you giving to this year?
